1. Good morning Mr Key. I think I can shed so light on the map. Disappointment Pot is a part of the cave system that included the massive Gaping Gyll (see Gaping in upper right). It runs under and through the Yorkshite Dales where OSM and I spent our childhoods. Specifically I think the system runs under Whernside where the entry to Gaping Gyll is to be found. Disappointment Ppt was so named as at one time it was thought to be an entry to a new cave system but turned out to be …a disappointment. It is strange the nonesense you DO retain over the years when so much else seems to have been lost.
