Dan Chambers brings to my attention a splendid example of sober and sensible news reportage.
Chaos in Barnstaple as cows escape from broken down trailer
“Chaos,” says Dan, “is a formless maelstrom of whirling matter. In this story, four cows escaped from a trailer and went missing for a short while.”
Is this Dan Chambers of Dictionary fame?
R : It’s Dan Chambers who illustrated “The Book Of Gnats” in “We Were Puny, They were Vapid” (2009)
The last sentence of that report has vaguely ominous undertones. “A lamp post was also damaged in the incident.” What is the current operational status of said item of street furniture? Was this a first push of some emerging bovine masterplan to plunge the roads of Barnstable and, eventually, North West Europe into tractor unfriendly darkness?
Barn Staple. Not Barn Stable. Apologies.
