The weasel is a vicious little animal and no mistake…
When I was a child I watched one kill a chicken…
The circumstances were even sadder than one might imagine considering that the chicken was being used to incubate pheasant chicks, which the weasel also killed…
Justice was administered by the game-keeper who caught the weasel, killed it and nailed it to a fence…
Even at this distance in time I’m not sure it was the same weasel though and, thinking about it, the pheasant chicks probably suffered less than if they’d reached adulthood and contracted lead-poisoning…
Don’t get me started on what happens when crows come into contact with spring lambs…
